 Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) came into existence on 1st April, 1937 in accordance with the provision of the Govt. of India Act, 1935 with Mr James Hezelett, a retired ICS officer from London, as its first Chairman. Till framing a new regulation in 1951, five more officers mostly retired ICS officer, held the office of the Chairman for different period after Mr James Hezelett.

Name of the Posts:

• Research Assistant – 10 Posts
• Assistant Professor -17 Posts

Educational Qualification:

• Research Assistant – The candidate should be passed Bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce
• Assistant Professor – The candidate should be passed Good academic record with 55% marks/ Master’s degree in relevant subject with cleared NET/ SLET/ SET

Age Limit: The candidate age should be between 21-38 years. Upper age limit for SC/ST/PWD applicable as per Govt. guidelines

Pay or Salary Scale:

• Research Assistant – The Pay Scale of Rs. 8,000-35,000/- with Grade pay of Rs. 4,300/- per month
• Assistant Professor – The Pay Scale of Rs. 15,600-39,100/- with Grade pay of Rs. 6,600/- per month

Selection Procedure: The selection procedure will be made on the performance in Screening test or Viva-voce and interview
