The Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT) is an autonomous institute of education and research in science, engineering and technology located in Patna, India. It is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. Indian Institute of Technology Patna invites application for the post of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor & Professor in various departments. Recruitment details has been given below:-

Educational Qualification:
  • Assistant Professor :  One should have a Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of Grades etc.) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least three years’ post-Ph.D. experience in teaching/research/industry for the post of Assistant Professor (Regular).
  • Associate Professor : One should have a Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of Grades etc.) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of six years in teaching/research/industry of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor/Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer or equivalent, excluding however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.
  • Professor : One should have a Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of Grades etc.) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of ten years of total post-Ph.D. experience in teaching/research/industry of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor in any of the following: IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such industry or other Indian or foreign institution/institutions of comparable standards as may be so decided by the institute.
Salary Scale:
  • Assistant Professor – Rs. 15,600 – 39,100/- + Grade Pay : Rs. 6,000/- Per Month
  • Associate Professor – Rs. 37,400-67,000/- + Grade Pay : Rs. 9,500/- Per Month
  • Professor – Rs. 37,400-67,000/- + Grade Pay : Rs. 10,500/-  Per Month
Age Limit:
  • For Assistant Professor (on contract) : 32 years
  • For Assistant Professor (regular) : 35 years
Selection Process: The selection process will generally consist by interview
